Heather & Jed's Wedding - June 3, 2006
A couple of weeks back I shot a fantastic Jewish wedding at Tribeca Rooftop in Manhattan, NY. Here's some of my favorite shots but there's a bunch more to check out through the link on the bottom.
Heather getting her hair and make up done.

Heather is an absolutely gorgeous bride.

Heather's niece getting ready. Isn't she adorable.

Heather's sister (also the maid of honor) helping to put the gown on.

Getting the veil on and a few laughs.

Jed checking himself after his shower. Jed happens to be one of the most gorgeous grooms I've ever worked with. He reminds me of comic book superhero Superman.

Seeing each other for the first time as Bride and Groom.

A few portraits of the beautiful bride.

I also shot some portraits of the groom.

All the guests are seated for the ceremony.

The groom being escorted down the aisle by his mom and dad.

Haeather walks down the staircase for her grand entrace to the ceremony.

Some of the guests looking on.

The blessing of betrothal where the couple drink from the same cup of wine. I love Heather's expression here.

It was raining for much of the wedding day but right after the ceremony, the rain died down for a few minutes and we went outdoors to take some portraits on the rooftop.

Pictured here with Heather is Meital Rusdia and her husband. Meital is an amazing fine art photographer who I exhibited with at the Puffin Room Gallery a few years back. At the time, the gallery was showcasing an exhibition on dance photography which featured our fine art works. When I first saw Meital's Outcast Samurai Dancer series, I was blown away and I actually asked her to autograph a copy of her book for me. When her good friend Heather was getting married, she recommended me for the job. Thanks Meital (we should do dinner sometime and catch up).

The gorgeous reception room setup.

The gorgeous view from the windows.

A bird's eye view of their grand entrance.

Jed and Heather gave a nice toast to their parents.

Next the parents came up to toast their kids. Heather's parents.

Jed's dad gave an amazing toast poem. It summed up everything that was Jed and Heather. Jed's dad spoke (and rhymed) about everything from Jed not bringing his wallet and money to his first date with Heather (Heather paid) to Heather keeping a slim figure by dieting on twizzlers and M&M chocalates. It was hilarious and one of the best and most unforgetable toasts I've ever heard.

A toast by Heather's older sister and maid of honor. She spoke about how when they were younger, Heather would look up to and admire her big sister and how now she admires and looks up to Heather. It was such a sincere and beautiful speech.

A toast by Jed's two best men. Their toast chronicled Jed's misadventures in misplacing things- everything from losing his passport at the airport, to losing his keys, losing important tickets, losing important documents and losing just about anything that is important that isn't nailed down. They said that now that Jed has found Heather, it is now her responsibility (not theirs) to take care of Jed and keep him out of trouble.
